Well, it's been quite a week. Tuesday I flew up to Bobby Dennings and it rained and rained and rained. The fall foliage was great - what you could see of it while driving.

Wed. was a normal Wed. with choir practice etc. Thursday we played for the Montezuma Music club and with the Mercer Youth Symphony.

Today is beautiful - sunny 60s - rain moving in later.

10:30 PM - long day but good. MA & I played the Mercer Orch. Reherasal today in the afternoon. I worked on Denning all morning. After the rehearsal we ate at the Sonnys BBQ and shopped at Best Buy. Then we took my car as a loaner to Mona & Gerald and then a picture (see yesterday) to Bill and Sallie for Bill's Birthday.

Random shot of the Cabin at Highfalls at dusk.

AMAZING the sun is actually shining today (its been a while folks)

Wow, what a night. The Republicans swept it pretty much. To me this is a bigger win for the Rep. than 1994 was. Apparently Pres. Bush's coattails were quite long. The most surprising races to me were Tom Murphy losing to a Republican - he has been the Majority Leader for FOREVER, Roy Barnes losing the Governor's race (although a LOT of people were upset with the way he had governed, and the state house in GA going republican. Wow.

A cold front is blowing in - going to be a nice winter day outside. Working on Denning program - will be headed there next Tuesday.

The old truck went to 100,000 today

8:15 AM - Election Day - cloudy messy 50 degrees or so. Will vote around 10 or 10:30 with MA.

View out the Window - Yuk

Voted at about 10:00 AM - took about 30 minutes. The machines were turned so that anyone with decent eyesight could read votes being cast - oh me oh my. I fussed at the poll workers and was very politely told to stuff it. They didn't want the people tripping over the power cables. My favorite screwup story was that in some counties they plugged in too many machines into the same circuit and overloaded it and blew the fuse. The machines have a battery backup and ran about 5 hours before giving up the ghost and it took them a while to figure out why - again - oh me oh my.

I went shopping for digital slr cameras in Atlanta at Wolff Camera. I got to play with the Nikon D100 and the Canon Eos1D - both 6MP $2000.00 cameras. Still going with the Fuji S2 probably.

View up the street from Wolff

Well well, it is the day before the election. Stuff has been really weird lately. Who knows, the Republicans may get the Senate back - who knows. The GA governors race is a real stinker to this point as is the GA senate race. Be glad when it is over.

We had a lightning strike a couple of weeks ago and it took out the wooden mast of the M16 sailboat. A new mast is $1300 or so and I found this whole boat for sale in Greenville SC for $350 or so.
