Austin
May 29 and 30, 2009
Getting there is half the fun. Our first glimpse of
Interstate number 10. We would see a lot of this.
Breakfast in Alabama.
Then Louisiana
And then TEXAS. I REALLY wish it went this fast.
Supper in scenic downtown Bastrop (just outside Austin).
Of course it was MEXICAN.
AND THEN after 33 years - UT Austin and THE TOWER!
And AGAIN - THE TOWER!
My old dorm (Jester). Honestly - it has (or at least had)
it's own zipcode. There was contruction everywhere on campus it seemed.
AND - where Mary Ann and I lived after we were married.
It's amazing that the Aspenwood Apartments are still there on Guadaloupe.
Our old apartment (at least the door).
A SHORT tour of the UT Austin Campus
The old but to me the NEW music building.
The orchestra room. I spent a LOT of time there.
Well, I will say we never had a gamelan room.
It was contest day for high schoolers. A choir warming up.
A view across campus from the music building.
Outside the alumni facility.
Some things never change. There also was a baton contest
going on.
Warming Up.
The capital from the campus.
And finally back to the motel to pack up and go.
Also, did I mention THE TOWER?
